To ensure a safe and successful breast augmentation procedure, follow the following instructions. During the weeks leading up to your surgery date, use this checklist as a guide. In order to stay healthy and safe, you must do this. You may have to wait several weeks after deciding to have surgery before you actually have it. During this time, there are several important considerations.

Fitness is important

Practicing good fitness habits is important to your overall health and well-being. You do not have to engage in an aggressive or new fitness routine. The weeks following surgery can be enhanced by upper body stretches and low-weight strength training. The most important thing is not to overdo it. Be careful not to overdo anything that might injure your shoulders, back, pectorals, arms, or upper body.

Nutrition is important

It is important to eat well in the weeks leading up to surgery. Crash dieting, overeating, and excessive alcohol consumption can adversely affect your health. The importance of a healthy, balanced diet cannot be overstated.

Don't smoke

The ability to heal can be greatly impaired by smoking. A minimum of four weeks must pass before surgery if you have used nicotine or smoked. A minimum of 4 weeks before surgery, you must be free of nicotine patches and nicotine-based products. Products containing THC, such as e-cigarettes, vapes, and marijuana, are included in this category. Second-hand smoke should also be avoided. Healing and health are heavily dependent on this.

Live a healthy life

Maintain good health and hygiene in the weeks leading up to surgery. You should wash your hands frequently and avoid people who are ill. You may need to reschedule your surgery if you have a lingering cold, virus, or other illness. If you suffer from an illness, please contact our office immediately.

Planning and preparing

In the days following surgery, schedule any time off from work, as well as any help you might need at home, such as childcare, groceries, and driving. You should confirm that a responsible adult will drive you to and from surgery, and that someone will stay with you round-the-clock following surgery for at least 24 hours.

Tests prior to operation

Ensure that you schedule all of your preoperative testing and clearance.

Live life to the fullest and relax

Life's daily events, as well as your planned surgery, can cause stress and anxiety. Anxiety is common, but if you have any serious concerns or distress over the prospect of surgery, you should speak to our office. If you have any questions, we are here to help. Having confidence in your decision is important to us.

Wear your post-surgical bra

You won't need to shop for a bra after surgery because surgical garments will be provided for you. When purchasing additional garments on your own, keep these things in mind:

  • There are no underwires
  • Elastic cotton or other breathable unpadded fabric with good support and coverage
  • Wide, well-balanced shoulder straps and wide supportive band across back and under breasts
  • A front-close, if possible

Before surgery, stop taking the following

Blood clots and other complications can occur when you take any of the following medications:

  • Aspirin and aspirin-containing medications
  • Anti-inflammatories and ibuprofen
  • E-vitamins
  • John's wort
  • Supplements for garlic
  • A green tea extract or a green tea tea
  • Supplements for estrogen
  • Contraceptive oral/birth control

Describe your comfort zone

Identify the most comfortable spot for you to recline and recover. The day of surgery is not the time to test locations or pillows. Keep yourself busy and entertained after surgery by purchasing magazines, books, and other things.

Your underarms should be shaved

For the day of surgery, your underarms should be shaved to ensure a smooth recovery process. Please do this no less than the day before surgery. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.

Please follow these guidelines carefully to ensure a safe and successful breast augmentation procedure. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact our office. We are here to help and support you throughout this process.
