In recent years, celebrities such as the Kardashians and Cardi B have turned their attention to derriere-enhancing procedures such as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). However, Brazilian Butt Lift surgery has been around for a long time. Dr. Ivo Pitanguy first created the procedure in the 1960s, and it has only recently made a comeback due to pop culture. To enhance and shape the buttocks, a Brazilian Butt Lift typically consists of silicone gel implants or liposuction and fat injections.

Liposuction with fat transfer is the most popular method for butt augmentation because some patients prefer better curves and aren't interested in butt implants.

Among BBL patients, board-certified plastic surgeons see two polarizing groups: those who want an exaggerated buttock augmentation, and those who want to smooth and slightly enhance the contour of the buttocks and hips.  However, it is the strategic placement of fat in a Skinny BBL that produces beautiful and balanced results, not how much fat is harvested and transferred.

This article will provide you with a comprehensive overview of Skinny BBL.

Skinny BBLs: what are they?

A subtle enhancement of the buttocks may be desired by some patients, as mentioned above. Patients with these conditions tend to be thin, physically fit, with flat butts, dips in the hips, or lack a transition from the waist to the butt.  The Skinny BBL can increase the volume of the butt, smooth out hip dips, and round out the butt.

When a patient undergoes a Skinny BBL procedure, they are undergoing two procedures at once. While butt implants augment the butt, they do nothing to contour other areas of the body. Skinny BBL procedures can benefit from VASER® high-definition liposuction.  Enhancing natural body contours and revealing bra bulges, abdomens, waists, and thighs. Sculpting the buttocks with fat injections adds projection, volume, and enhances shape once it is collected.

Skinny BBL: Who Is A Good Candidate?

Skinny BBL candidate ideas include:

A reasonably fit body type with less fat to harvest, and those who typically have trouble building a bigger butt.

 A healthy, non-smoker.

 Less than 25-year-old women.

The Skinny BBL will not significantly increase the size of your buttocks, but it will improve their appearance and shape. With a Skinny BBL, you might be able to get better shape or round out your butt if you're slender or have less body fat.

What Are The Fat Requirements For A Skinny BBL?

It depends on many factors, such as the patient's height, weight, anatomic variations, body fat percentage, and aesthetic goals, how much fat is added in a BBL.  High volume BBLs have fat volumes exceeding one liter per buttock.  Typically, a Skinny BBL has 500 to 800cc's of fat, but sometimes it's less.  Skinny BBL focuses on shape rather than size, and natural results over-exaggerated curves are the goal

How Long Does It Take For The Skinny Brazilian Butt Lift To Recover?

Recovery from a Skinny Butt Lift is similar to that of a traditional BBL.

A temporary swelling, bruising, pain, and the need to avoid pressure on the fat grafted area are some of the side effects. In order to recover from Skinny BBL, I follow the following protocol:

Hard surfaces should not be sat on

45 minutes is the maximum amount of time you should sit.

Each hour, walk

The best way to sleep at night is on your stomach or side.

Within 2-3 weeks of surgery, patients can resume cardiovascular activity. Following Skinny BBL surgery, the final results usually appear after swelling has resolved.
